About Us

Anchor Iron Co.  was founded in 1953 by R.G. (Bob) Roberts and began as a small, familyrun operation out of his home and barn in Bloomington, Minnesota. The early years focused on the sales and installation of clothes posts and a modest amount of wrought iron railing work. Bob’s son, Jim, joined the business early on, often assisting with installations as a young boy.

As demand grew, so did the business. In 1958, the company purchased property and constructed a dedicated facility in Savage, MN, marking a new era of manufacturing wrought iron railings. From that point forward, Anchor Iron evolved from a small operation into a trusted name in custom metalwork.

Today, we proudly offer a full range of handcrafted products including interior and exterior railings, spiral staircases, window boxes, gates, and aluminum deck railings. Every piece we make reflects our commitment to quality, detail, and timeless design.

Now in our fourth generation of family involvement, Anchor Iron remains deeply rooted in tradition while embracing innovation. We’re proud to manufacture all of our products right here in Minnesota  and to employ our own team of professional installers, ensuring that our standards are upheld from start to finish.
